Carman started her entrepreneurial journey while studying at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Over time, Carman successfully exited from her multiple successful ventures. Her first startup, EnglishStreet became a business case for a well-run startup in the Harvard Business Review database.
Her deep passion for technology led her to become a tech columnist for IT magazines such as PC Home and newspapers including IT Times of Hong Kong Economic Times and the Hong Kong Economic Journal. Her columns were widely followed by technology enthusiasts, and the accelerated learning books she wrote to help her first venture break into the schooling market turned into several best-sellers.
Carman turned to angel investing in 2013 and founded Click Ventures, in 2015. She has been invited to speak for the most prestigious global technology events across 10+ countries including the Web Summit, Slush, AVCJ Private Equity, Venture Forum, and Silicon Dragon to share her deep understanding of technology. Carman rejected her scholarship for PhD in Financial Mathematics from the Imperial College. She holds a MSc in Statistics and Probability, and BSc in Pure Mathematics from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
