The domestic/foreign split leaned heavily onshore this fortnight: 29 deals were domestic, seven were inbound and nine were outbound. Within Materials, the domestic deals were almost entirely gold and critical-minerals consolidation among ASX-listed juniors – Evolution’s stake buy in Carnaby Resources, Forrestania’s acquisition of the Edna May gold hub from Ramelius, and Cazaly’s move on the Goongarrie project among them.

Outbound activity, by contrast, was almost exclusively resource-focused: Sentinel Metals, Sun Silver and Olympio Metals each added US gold and silver exposure in Nevada and Idaho, Capstone Copper advanced into Chile, and Santos increased its stake in the Papua LNG project.

Inbound capital told a different story again, concentrated in infrastructure and financial services rather than resources – DigitalBridge’s purchase of Ausgrid’s Plus ES smart-metering arm was the standout, alongside CVC’s investment in Ambrose Construct Group and MUFG’s acquisition of superannuation administrator GROW Inc.
