In this edition, we look at a week of big moves: new battery projects to keep grids flexible, fresh partnerships in offshore wind, and investors backing everything from biomethane to rooftop solar and next‑generation materials.

  • Storage returns to the spotlight, with co-development frameworks such as Ingrid and Energiequelle’s 200 MW German expansion, and some long-duration concepts gaining attention.
  • Wind keeps pushing out to sea and across regions: Floating wind progress in France and Scotland, new auction rounds in Ireland, and portfolio reshuffles in Spain and Sweden quietly shaping tomorrow’s turbine owners.
  • Beyond generation, capital continues to move into bioenergy, rooftop and onsite solar, hybrid solar-plus-storage, and cleaner materials for energy hardware.

A steady November for European clean-energy M&A, with hybrids gaining ground

Our latest curation data shows that European renewable-energy M&A remained steady in November. Looking only at M&A and JVs, there were 51 clean-energy deal announcements, almost flat compared with October’s 53.

The UK and Germany together account for almost half of November’s deals (16 and 8 respectively), with Italy, France and Spain forming a strong second tier.

The mix, however, shifted slightly, with wind edging ahead of storage (which saw a couple of quieter weeks in mid-November) in deal count. Large, multi-technology platforms accounted for the biggest ticket sizes in the announcements we tracked during the period.

For dealmakers, two quick takeaways stand out:

  • Wind and storage remain the most active parts of the market, together accounting for almost half of November’s deal count.
  • Hydrogen cooled noticeably (two deals in November versus six in October), while solar + BESS appeared with four transactions (a small but useful signal that integrated assets are moving up the agenda).

Overall, November doesn’t rewrite the story, but it does refine it: European renewable energy M&A is holding up in volume, tilting gently towards wind, storage and hybrids, and still offering plenty of room for well‑prepared buyers and sellers to get deals done.
