In a recent interview with BNamericas, Alexandre Pierantoni, our previous speaker and the head of Kroll’s corporate finance and M&A area, explained how, in spite of a decrease of 35% in M&A deals in H1 2023 in the whole Latam region, recovery is on the horizon. And Brazil, which registered nearly two-thirds of the announced deals, is expected to have a leading role in this recovery process.
It is fair to say though that also Brazil has been experiencing a considerable slowdown in M&A deals this year, registering 661 M&A operations in H1 2023. This represents an 11.8% drop from H1 2022, but it is still a good sign of recovery if we consider that during the first months of the year the annual drop amounted to more than 30%.
