Background Mr. Montoya is a Transaction Services partner with KPMG in China since 2005. Based out of Beijing, he focuses on supporting cross-border M&A processes both for multinationals entering the China market as well as for Chinese corporates investing overseas. Amongst other responsibilities with KPMG, Mr. Montoya is the partner in charge of the China-LatAm investment channel, as well as inbound projects in Northern China. Prior to joining KPMG in China, he developed his career in M&A in US, Europe and LatAm.
Sector scope In serving his clients, Mr. Montoya has been able to gain a wide breadth of exposure across sectors, from ‘traditional’ infrastructure to semi-conductors and other high-tech. Most recently, Mr. Montoya has been involved in large scale M&A transactions in the mobility sector and environmental solutions sectors.
Portfolio clients: Mr. Montoya focuses on supporting complex, large scale transactions for first tier accounts. Throughout his long career in China he has build a portfolio of clients including SOEs in different sectors (e.g. CTG, Sinopec, CNPC, Shandong Gold…) as well as multinationals companies (his portfolio including household names Volkswagen, Siemens, Daimler, Engie or Nestle, amongst others).
