Stania Moraes is an expert in Finance, Operations Turn Around and Business Unit Start ups with technical excellence in risk management, compliance and governance. She has over 30 years as a B2B executive in several sectors of the economy in large corporations such as Siemens, Smiths Group, Rexan PLC, ITT Group, Thomson Reuters, among others.
Today Stania is the CFO of Ciena, a US-based digital transformation company in the telecommunications segment. She is co-founder and director of WCFO, a group that supports the development of women leaders in finance, and has co-authored books on the subject. More recently she accepted the position of Independent Board Member of Furnas, a Brazilian company in the energy sector. She is a board member of the global A4S – Accounting for Sustainability program in Brazil.
Stania believes in the power of the collective, where diversity and lifelong learning are the basis for building more prosperous, happier and sustainable companies in the future. As part of this belief, she is a mentor and angel investor for ESG companies managed by women.
