Hello,
Welcome to this week’s Teaser Energy Europe, a concise, curated roundup of M&A, joint ventures, and strategic investments powering Europe’s energy transition.
This week, BESS momentum picked up in Spain and the UK, where Electric Land acquired a 120 MW/240 MWh project at Uskmouth. New partnerships and portfolio processes dotted the continent, reinforcing SolarPower Europe’s outlook that battery capacity in Europe could grow six-fold over the next five years, reaching ~400 GWh by 2029.
This edition also leans solar- and wind-heavy. Closed PV deals (3) led the week, highlighted by EDP (Italy), which agreed to sell a 207 MWac solar portfolio to Encavis for over EURm 250. Onshore wind features municipal ownership in North Rhine-Westphalia and portfolio trades across Spain and Greece; offshore wind pauses in Estonia amid CfD uncertainty.
Additionally, Energiekontor sold a 40 MW onshore project (Elsdorf) to the city of Elsdorf. In EVs, EDF is taking Pod Point private, and biomethane supply expands with ReFuels’ Dutch acquisition.
