European energy M&A kept moving this week, with capital flowing across renewables, storage and low-carbon infrastructure.
Solar remained active, with Gulermak and EDP adding projects to their portfolios across Poland, Germany and Italy.
Battery storage continued to attract investors. Hansa divested a 99-MW German BESS project, while Essar Energy Transition Retail moved further into the UK energy transition market through the acquisition of SGN’s forecourt network.
Elsewhere, Econergy expanded into France through the acquisition of a 740-MW onshore wind platform, while Airenergy moved into the Polish wind market with the acquisition of a wind farm.
And in other news this week:
- Qair has become the owner of a roughly 20-MW solar project in the ready-to-build phase in the German state of Bavaria and plans to run a crowdfunding campaign to allow local residents to get involved.
- The Sorégies Group acquires a stake in Next Step Energy. This partnership with France’s fourth-largest energy company provides Next Step Energy with the resources needed to drive its development.
- Kanadevia Inova, a global leader in solutions for the energy transition and circular economy, has acquired a controlling interest in the operating business of BioValue B.V.
